Use of some form of diagrammatic representation is an  increasingly  common way to show features of complex glycan structures

There is no universally agreed scheme but the most commonly used are those proposed by the Consortium for Functional Glycomics and that known as the 'Oxford' system

Diagrams in both formats may be drawn using  the program GlycoWorkbench and also converted to IUPAC nomenclature

These have many  similarities but there are significant difference
